About John Wood, Jr
John Wood, Jr. is a national leader and director of public outreach for Braver Angels. A former nominee for congress, a former Vice-Chairman of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County and an adviser on The American Project (an initiative of the Pepperdine School of Public Policy), John is a noted writer and public speaker on the subjects of moral philosophy and racial and political reconciliation.
His written work has appeared in publications including Quillette, The American Interest, Areo Magazine, Reflections (a journal of the Yale Divinity School) and Real Clear Policy. His speaking credits include appearances to CPAC, The Global Philanthropy Forum, the Social Capital Summit, The Visionaries Summit and The Aspen Institute's Weave the Social Fabric Project. John has also worked in education and youth advocacy in South Los Angeles, where he lives currently with his wife and three children.
