1776 Unites is a movement to inspire tens of millions of Americans…

to become agents of their own uplift and transformation, by embracing the true founding values of our country.

Who We Are

1776 Unites represents a nonpartisan and intellectually diverse alliance of writers, thinkers, and activists focused on creating solutions for our country’s greatest challenges in education, culture, and upward mobility. We are a project of the Woodson Center, a nonprofit organization that has worked for decades to empower local communities to address America’s toughest problems. Our Declaration

“A New Declaration” for America — from 1776 Unites scholars and activists!

We are building a positive movement in response to the overwhelming narratives of oppression, grievance and ignorance to America’s history — and its promise for the future.

1776 Unites is a project of the Woodson Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1981 by Robert L. Woodson, Sr. We are in no way affiliated with any other “1776” group, commission, project, or association. If you support our mission, and want to help us build, please donate so we can do more.
